We are just 11 days from Election Day, and America is coming into the final stretch with a lot on the line.
Virginia is at the center of the fight for control of Congress. Three constitutional amendments are on our ballot. Health care, reproductive freedom and voting rights are under pressure. Immigration enforcement is changing daily life in communities across Virginia. And beyond our borders, questions about Ukraine, Russia and America’s role in the world are getting louder.
This Friday, we go from the national picture straight to what all of this means on the ground.
U.S. Rep. Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) joins us with a view from Congress and the campaign trail. She has been traveling across Virginia supporting competitive congressional races, campaigning for Virginia’s constitutional amendments, speaking out about health-care cuts and maternal health, and defending voting and reproductive rights. We’ll ask what she is seeing in these final days and what she believes Americans should be paying attention to now. https://mcclellan.house.gov/
John Cano, Senior Supervising Organizer with the Legal Aid Justice Center, brings us into Virginia communities where debates over immigration and federal enforcement are very real. John works with immigrant and working families on Know Your Rights education, civic engagement and access to justice, and will help us understand what families are experiencing right now and the major legal fights ahead. https://www.justice4all.org/staff/john-cano/
