
A three-alarm fire tore through an apartment building in the Landings at Markham’s Grant community in Woodbridge on Saturday afternoon, displacing 19 residents and injuring two firefighters.
According to the department’s press release, early reports show at least 12 adults and seven children were displaced and are receiving help from the Red Cross. Two firefighters were taken to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

4:58 PMUnits were dispatched to the 15700 blk of Tassia Lane (Woodbridge) for a reported apartment fire in the Landings at Markham’s Grant community. Crews arrived on the scene with heavy fire showing from the rear of the apartment building. A second and third alarm were quickly requested due to fire and heat conditions. Three(3) occupants were rescued by firefighters utilizing ladders. Two (2) of the three were evaluated for injuries on the scene but were not transported. Two firefighters were transported to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The building sustained extensive damage and was determined to be unsafe to occupy by the Building Official. Early reports indicate at least 12 adults, and 7 children have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
