The Prince William and Manassas police departments are rallying the community to join the effort. Brave individuals and teams of family, friends, co-workers, and organizations are encouraged to participate by taking the plunge, making a donation, or simply attending to cheer on participants.
Ways to Participate:
- Take the Plunge: Register as an individual or form a team to jump into the chilly waters.
- Donate: Support the cause financially, even if you prefer to stay dry.
- Attend and Cheer: Enjoy the festivities and encourage the plungers.
The event will feature live music, games, door prizes, food trucks, and law enforcement displays. A highlight of the day is the annual costume contest, where participants dress in creative outfits before braving the icy waters.
The Polar Plunge is a major fundraiser for Special Olympics, an organization supported by law enforcement agencies across the United States and in 45 countries. Funds raised go directly toward providing year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
