Units responded around 1:30 p.m. to the 7900 block of Flager Circle and found a three-story townhouse with a fire spreading from the garage. Firefighters were told that two people were trapped on the upper floor and needed immediate help. Crews entered the home, located the victims, and safely rescued them.
All three occupants—two rescued from inside the home and another—were transported to a nearby medical facility. Their conditions have not been released.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly, but the home sustained moderate damage. Crews stayed on the scene for several hours afterward. The Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
Fire officials noted that working smoke detectors alerted the residents to the fire, allowing them time to call for help. They urged all homeowners to regularly check their smoke detectors to ensure they are functioning properly.
