Blanche L Dymond (Age 92)
Memorial service info
Blanche Louise Robertson Dymond, 92, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away peacefully in her home on December 4, 2025.
Born to Alfred W. and Isabel Moore Robertson on November 13th, 1933, in Fairfax, Virginia, Blanche was the eldest of six children. At the young age of 18, she married her first love and soulmate, Robert E. Dymond, on August 16th, 1952, in Rockville, Maryland. The two shared 61 loving years of marriage and built a beautiful life together. To complete their family, they welcomed three children, Robert Jr., “Bobby”, Mendy, and Johelen “JoJo”. Considered one of the pioneer families of Dale City, they moved to the Birchdale subdivision in March of 1966.
Blanche began her career as a switchboard operator at the Pentagon, then as a clerk at Lerner’s in Seven Corners. After moving to Dale City, Blanche served in several Prince William County elementary schools and retired as the head office secretary of Dale City Elementary School. She was honored in the Potomac News as a “Grand Ole’ Gal,” a recognition she treasured as one of the fondest moments of her professional life. She also served as a reporter for the Potomac News, covering many local stories over the years. As one of the first homeowners in Dale City, Blanche played an integral role in building and nurturing the community. She could often be found volunteering with youth programs and developing parks and recreation activities. She was a founding member of the award-winning Dale City Dalelites Majorette and Drum Corps, where she formed many lifelong friendships and made a lasting, positive impact on countless young boys and girls.
In her personal life, Blanche found joy in cooking, shopping, drinking sweet tea, spending time with her family, and praising the Lord she served her entire life. She would often share the story of giving her life to God at the age of seven years old, and never looking back. Her family will remember her as a generous, empathetic, and steadfast matriarch who encouraged them to pursue their dreams and follow Jesus. She was passionate about sharing the gospel with everyone she met; to know her was to experience God’s love.
Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. Dymond, Sr.; her children, Robert E. Dymond, Jr. “Bobby” and, Johelen D. Miranda “JoJo”; her son-in-law, Neal A. Cook; her parents, Alfred W. and Isabel M. Robertson; and her siblings, Ginger MacGregor, Annie Allison and brother-in-law, Stuart; Alfred W. Robertson, Jr. “Junior”, James R.
