Dorothy “Dot” Obenchain, great mom, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother of Manassas Park, Virginia died Sunday, May 9, 2021 peacefully at her home.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, James “Jim” Obenchain. Survivors include her children; Elaine D. Fairfax and husband, Gerald; Brenda G. Pultz and husband Hunter “Mac”; Alice F. Wilkinson and Jay W. Obenchain and wife Ann; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Dot was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. In addition to raising her children, Dot was an accomplished artist. Her hand painted Christmas ornaments were in great demand. She was deeply involved in her church and participated in many charitable events. She was a previous winner of the Manassas Park Woman of the Year.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Piece Funeral Home, 9609 Center St. Manassas, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 7803 Well St. Manassas, VA. To attend, registration online is required and can be found at comefollowchrist.net. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 200 Vesex St. 28th Floor New York, NY 10281 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 in loving memory of Dorothy H. Obenchain.
