Mary Alice Furr, 84, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 in Manassas, VA.
Alice was born April 17, 1937 in Concord to the late Jesse Herman Shue and Stella Mae Chamberline Shue. She was also preceded in death by husband, Billy Floyd Furr, and infant daughter, Patsy Louise Furr.
Alice was a member of New Grace Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family, especially her pastor. She loved to travel and really enjoyed the annual sister’s trip. Alice looked forward to the family gathering, especially at Christmas. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.
Survivors include sons, Floyd H. Furr and wife, Barbara, of Nokesville, VA, and Richard A. Furr of Marshall, VA; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Newton of Concord and Joyce (Donnie) Sours of Winchester, VA; 4 grandchildren, Jesse (Virginia) Furr, Tracy (Sam) Nantz, William Furr and Nicholas Furr; 6 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Aveleigh, Audrey, Tatum, June and Rhys; nieces, Donna (Roy) Crawford, Cynthia (John White) Sours, and Beverly (Jim) Burton, Sophia and Robert; and nephew, David (Michelle) Pugh.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 1:45 pm, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at New Grace Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Allen S. Montgomery. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord.
