Helen Newhouse

Helen Coffey Newhouse, 75, of Dale CIty, VA, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, surrounded by her family.

Helen is survived by her loving husband Jerry Newhouse, mother Dorothy Alexander, sons Todd Cullop (wife Jamie) and Eric Cullop, stepdaughter Cora Newhouse (husband Steve Kuss), sisters Sharon Coffey and Sheila Ladd (husband John), brothers Larry Coffey (wife Judy), Drew Coffey, grandchildren Eric Cullop Jr. (Kayla Childs), Ashley Laney, Brady Cullop, Cash Cullop, Megan Newhouse, Ashley Newhouse, Kristina Kuss, Austin Kuss, and great-grandchildren Eric Cullop III and Kristina Cullop.

Helen was preceded in death by her sister Loella Coffey and stepson Jerry Newhouse Jr.

Helen was born March 4, 1945 in Jamestown, Kentucky. She grew up in Jamestown and Nashville, Tennessee, and spent most of her life in Dale City, VA.

Helen spent 26 years with the 7-11 Corporation in Alexandria, VA; beginning as a secretary, and retiring as Regional Merchandising Manager. She volunteered for Cub Scouts and Threedale Little League.

Helen loved to travel and camp on the Shenandoah River. Her greatest role was as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent most of her time loving and serving her family and friends with absolute joy and was a blessing to all who knew her.

A Life Celebration service will be held at 5pm Monday, February 15, 2021 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City, VA 22193.  Mountcastle Turch covid restrictions are 65 people in the building, practicing social distancing and wearing mask and/or face coverings.

The exchanges will take place the weekends of May 17-19, 2024, and May 31-June 2, 2024, at A Few Cool Hardware Stores network of employee-owned Ace Hardware stores in the DC and Baltimore metro areas.
