The Prince William County Fire Marshal says a 19-year-old man attacked another with a flaming log.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the 1300 block of East Longview Drive in Woodbridge in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 5, 2020.
“The investigation revealed the suspect, Mr. Carlos Pena, attacked the victim using a flaming log, which knocked the victim into the fire causing burns to his face, neck, shoulder, back, and forearms,” said Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department spokeswoman Kim Hylander.Â
The victim and the suspect were both treated for their injuries at an area hospital, said Hylander. She did not say what led to the attack.
Carlos Pena, 19, of 14785 Candlewood Court in Woodbridge is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, and with malicious bodily injury by means of fire, said Hylander.
Pena is due in court on June 16, 2020. He was held without bond.
