WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge residents can learn about living healthy at a free Health and Wellness Expo at Freedom High School.
The members of Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (PWCAC DST) in collaboration with Prince William County Community Foundation (PWCCF) are hosting this expo on May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be Zumba, dozens of vendors to provide free medical/dental screenings, informational pamphlets, wellness tips, and more.
Attendees will get the opportunity to interact with the event’s sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and practitioners to learn more about the resources that are available to help promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle. There will also be raffles, door prizes, and refreshments.
The festival was co-founded by Dr. Bethye Valenzuela, chair of the Physical and Mental Health Committee for PWCAC DTS, and Dr. Vanessa Gattis, President and CEO of PWCCF.
Both have backgrounds in psychology and wanted to address health and wellness concerns in the community. In order to do so, they decided to gather like-minded leaders in the community to address these concerns. This is the first Health and Wellness Expo spearheaded by Dr. Valenzuela and Dr. Gattis.
Freedom High School is located at 15209 Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge.
