WOODBRIDGE — The Democratic Immigrant Caucus of the Prince William County will hold a candidate forum on immigration.
The forum will take place on May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ferlazzo Auditorium, located at 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge.
This forum comes on the heels of a similar forum held last month, attended by Democrats, that focused on environmental topics.
“Since Immigration is a such an important topic in Prince William County with us being a majority/minority county, we want to follow up with a forum specifically regarding the status of immigration and the plans that candidates and incumbents have for this issue,” said Elisabet Michaelsen, chair of The Democratic Immigrant Caucus.
Nine candidates, mostly Democrats, have signed up to participate in what’s billed as a non-partisan forum. They include —
- Don Scoggins, running for Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman, At-large
- Ann Wheeler, running for Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman, At-large
- Margaret Franklin, running for Woodbridge District Supervisor
- LaTonsha Pridgen, running for Coles District Supervisor
- Aaron Edmonds, running for Occoquan District Supervisor
- Maggie Hansford, running for Brentsville District Supervisor
- Kenny Boddye, running for Occoquan District Supervisor
- Frank Principi, running for Woodbridge District Supervisor
Evelyn BruMar will serve as the moderator, as she did for the recent forum on the environment.
The questions have been established by the Board of the Democratic Immigrant Caucus. Each candidate will get equal time as well as a chance to make a final two-minute closing statement.
Campaigning from the audience won’t be allowed. The forum will be live streamed for the members of the Dem Immigrant Caucus, said Michaelsen.
The Democratic Immigrant Caucus of the Prince William County Democratic Committee is focused on issues pertaining to immigration, immigrants and undocumented persons in Prince William County. The Caucus is formed by members of the Prince William County Democratic Committee.
