Delores “Doris” Wood, 88, of Manassas, VA passed peacefully on April 21, 2019, after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Naomi and Harry “Bud” Mahon; sister to the late William, Harry, Carroll “Boots”, Milton and Lillian; wife of 60 years to late James “Buddy” Wood, and mother to the late Ronald “Jimmy” Wood.

She is survived by her sisters, Irma Clifton of Falmouth, VA; Bonnie Reading and her husband, George, of Hanahan, SC; son, David Wood and his wife, Tracy, of Indian Trail, NC; daughter, Robin Bogart and her husband, Stephen, of Manassas, VA; her grandchildren, Monica Brooks and her husband, Shohn, of Harrisburg, NC; Nicole Little of Front Royal, VA; Christopher (CJ) Little of Manassas, VA; and James Wood of Indian Trail, NC; four great grand-children, Ellie, Kaley, Sawyer and Penny.
Born in Lorton VA, Doris worked for numerous years at Ft. Belvoir and then retired from the DC Department of Corrections, Lorton Reformatory as the Canteen Manager. Doris was raised in Lorton but moved to Manassas in 1947 when she married Buddy Wood. This is where they built their home in Hoadly and were known and loved by all.
Funeral services followed by interment will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 11:00 am at Woodbine Church, 12914 Canova Drive, Manassas VA 20112.
