Powell Norman Thorpe, age 87, passed away on April 13, 2019 at Caton Merchant House in Manassas, VA.
Mr. Thorpe is a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked at the Fairfax Water Authority as a water tester; after retiring he enjoyed rebuilding old cars.
He is predeceased by his parents: Norman Samuel and Vernie Kathryn (Robinson) Thorpe; his wife: Evelyn Thorpe and four siblings.
Survivors include one brother: Aubrey Thorpe and wife Wanda; four sisters: Wanda Bowman and husband Lewis; Debra Wilkinson and husband Charlie; Judy Broyhill and husband Michael; and Matilda Posey; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.
