MANASSAS — The Manassas Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the Madrigal Singers of Osbourn Park High School for Beethoven Festival, an all-Beethoven performance at 7:30 pm on May 4, at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
The Madrigal Singers perform under the direction of Dominic Izzo, the vocal teacher at Osbourn Park High School. Accompanied by the MSO under the direction of James Villani, they will perform Beethoven’s Mass in C Major (Kyrie, Gloria), and the ‘Hallelujah’ from ‘Christ on the Mount of Olives’.
The MSO will also present Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony. It is Beethoven’s representation of experiencing the wonders of nature. The orchestra first performed this lovely work in 2006. The program includes Beethoven’s King Stephen Overture. Don’t miss the MSO’s season finale concert.
Season subscriptions and individual concert tickets are available from the Hylton Center Box Office or by calling 888-945-2468. All children and student tickets (through college) are free.
