WOODBRIDGE — Three parks in Woodbridge will be combined into one following the opening of a new $4 million boardwalk.
Rippon Lodge, Rippon Landing Park, and the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk could soon be called Neabsco Regional Park.
That is the recommendation from a committee formed by the Prince William County Parks and Recreation Commission. The recommendation is expected to go before the County Board of Supervisors on May 7 for final approval.
The new regional park complex will encompass 15125 to 15520 Blackburn Road in Woodbridge.
Rippon Landing Park features trails, a picnic area, and playground equipment. Nippon Lodge is one of the oldest houses in Prince William County, dating back to 1740.
The Neabsco Creek boardwalk traverses the Julie Metz Wetlands on the Neabsco Creek.
A ribbon cutting for the new park is Planned for June 1.
