PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — On March 25 at 9:25 p.m. police were called to investigate a carjacking.
The victim, a 48-year-old man, reported to police that he left the vehicle running and entered the store. Upon returning to his vehicle, the victim found a strange man inside the car. A struggle ensued resulting in the victim being pushed away and the suspect fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.
While investigating the incident, another officer was dispatched to a residence in the 8000 block of Maplewood Dr. to investigate a single vehicle crash into a home. The investigation revealed the suspect had stolen the vehicle before losing control and crashing into a home.
The driver of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle and the crash caused a gas leak within the house, and nearby power lines to fall. The suspect was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
During a search of the suspect, police found marijuana. Following the investigation, warrants have been obtained for the suspect, identified as Marlon Bradford Summerville, and will be served upon the suspect’s release from the hospital.
