Preston Woodrow (Woody) Bolton, 74, died July 29, 2018 of cancer in Manassas, VA. He was born October 3, 1943 in Memphis, TN, son of the late Charles Preston Bolton and Lucille Wilson Bolton.
Woody spent 25 years in government service with the United States Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency. He served tours in Taiwan, Ethiopia, Burma, Iran, and Belgium. After retiring from the CIA, he continued to support the government as a consultant for an additional 18 years.
Woody was a loving husband, father and grandfather, an avid hunter, genealogy enthusiast, and tennis fan. For the past 6 years he was an active member of the Stroke Comeback Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joyce; son, Mark (Paula) of Aiken, SC; daughter, Jessica (Engin Yilmaz) of Manassas, VA; son, Samuel of Manassas, VA; and son, Benjamin of Arlington, VA. Also surviving are his sisters, Lequetta Elaine Carrington of Lakeland, TN, and Rhonda Raspanti of Spring Hills, FL; and four grandchildren, Luke, Timothy, John Mark, and Rebekah of Aiken, SC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Baker- Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. The funeral service will be held on, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be private at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Woody’s honor to the Stroke Comeback Center, 145 Park St., SE, Vienna, VA 22180.
