Maywood Faye Thornton, age 80, of Haymarket, VA passed away peacefully Sunday, October 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her children.
She was born on December 12, 1936 in Faison, North Carolina the daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Cannibell (Thornton) Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Carl Thornton.
Survivors include her four children, Carla F. Jenkins and husband Ronald of Bealeton, VA, Debby T. Nirich and husband Jim of Warrenton, VA, Donna K. Fones and husband Larry of Warrenton, VA, Kenneth R. Thornton of Fairfax, VA; two sisters, Joyce Bass and Mattie Brewer; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittany, Jason, Jeremy, Shannon, Christin, Taylor, Kendra and Kurtis; seven great grandchildren, Lawna, Brielle, Arabell, Parker, Colter, Davis and Jace.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, October 27, 2017 with Rev. Ruth Ann Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
