Anna Maria Elizabeth Henrich was born on January 17, 1928 in Germany to the late Josef Strauss and Maria Godha Strauss. She spent her early years in Germany where she met her husband, the late Richard Henrich in 1950. He was stationed in Germany at the time they met. After they married they lived for a time in Germany prior to moving to the United States. After spending time at Ft Bragg and Ft Belvoir they moved to Woodbridge, VA.
Anna drove a school bus for Prince William County Public Schools for 18 years. She loved being able to make sure the children in her care arrived at school and then made it back at home safely. She enjoyed spending time in the garden as well as spending time sewing, cooking, knitting and shopping which was perhaps her favorite past time.
She loved to travel and was able to go back and visit Germany. She also spent time in Hawaii and Alaska. Anna attended Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was a devoted mother, loving wife and adoring grandmother who raised both Robert and Wayne her grandson’s.
Anna is survived by her children, Doris and Gerald. Her son Frank predeceased her. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Emily, Robert, Wayne, Bandon and Todd as well as 9 great grandchildren, Desiree, Taylor, Tara, Austin, Charlotte, Oliver, Garrett, Aubrey and Sadie. She is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Services are pending. She will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
