Kevin Lee Frye, 52, beloved husband, father, and dear friend to all, died peacefully on March 23, 2017 at his home in Manassas, VA.
Kevin lived each day with a loving heart and a focus on helping others. He was known for his strong hugs, giving nature, ever-present smile, and sage advice. He loved fishing, nature, completing home projects and spending time with his wife Stacy, two sons Zachary and Tyler, and his extended family. He willingly served as the family photographer, mechanic, handyman, chef, pie maker and trusted confidant. No matter the size or complexity of a project, Kevin was always the man for the job.
Kevin was also a highly-respected Manassas City Senior Firefighter, serving 27 years as a leader, mentor, friend and brother to everyone in the department. His coworkers lovingly describe him as a compassionate, hard-working man, full of love and renowned for teaching and mentoring both new and experienced members of the department.
Kevin’s spirit is a reminder to us all that not all super heroes wear capes. We will cherish his memory and aspire to live up to his compassionate example.
Kevin will be remembered at a memorial service on March 31, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas. The service will begin at 1:30pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church 9750 Wellington Road Manassas, VA 20110.
