Historic Preservation Foundation participates in CFC

The Prince William Historic Preservation Foundation announced its participation in the 2015 Combined Federal Campaign Universal Giving program.

The campaign runs now through December and is designed to give Federal employees an opportunity to support their favorite national and local charities.

The Prince William Historic Preservation Foundation has earmarked funds raised during the campaign for the new Prince William Museum at Rippon Lodge, which will be built adjacent to historic Rippon Lodge.

The 14,000 square foot museum will provide state of the art displays, interpretive technology, and provide space for lectures and private events.

The museum will reflect the broader themes of American patriotism and history by telling the stories of ordinary people who loved family, tended to their businesses and served their community quietly and effectively in both good times and bad in Prince William County, a quintessentially “crossroads community of America” that has been in the front row of history since the arrival of the first colonists.

The Museum at Rippon Lodge, set on a bluff above the scenic Potomac River and buffered by woodlands, is destined to become a “place of destination” among the family of museums in Northern Virginia, a place of pride, inspiration and renewal.
