Teacher treated for smoke inhalationÂ
A teacher from Hylton High School was treated for smoke inhalation on Tuesday after the building’s roof caught fire.
Fire and rescue crews rushed to the school on Spriggs Road in Woodbridge and found smoke filled hallways on the second floor of the two-story school.
Contractors working on the school’s roof told fire crews construction materials caught fire and were smoldering.
Crews doused the blaze, and the teacher was taken to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center as a precaution.
Students are expected back in the building for the start of the new school year on August 31.
