Listen to the world premiere of a Ben Bernstein original performed by up-and-coming musicians.
Since 2005, students in grades 4-12 have been gathering at PWC Orchestra Camp for fun and a chance to strengthen their skills. Led by Lake Ridge Middle School Orchestra Director Karen von Bernewitz, the camp has seen steady growth and now welcomes more than 100 students each year.
A special feature this year had the campers performing a new piece written by PWCS strings teacher Ben Bernstein. This teacher shares his talents with Marshall, Rosa Parks, and King Elementary Schools. The piece was given a big thumbs-up from Dr. Ed Stephenson, PWCS supervisor of arts, who stopped in to listen and even had a little fun playing the cello.
The camp will conclude with a performance on July 31 at 10:30 in the Gar-Field High School Auditorium. The public is invited to attend the event.
