Sentara Healthcare merged with Pratt Medical Center of Fredericksburg. Sentara is a major medical provider in Hampton Roads, and owns the Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge — formerly Potomac Hospital.
Pratt Medical serves 66,000 patients in Fredericksburg, Stafford, King George, and Dahlgren.
The new company will operate under the name Sentara Pratt Medical Center.

Sargent John D. Conner the the third was remembered at a ceremony at the city’s police station. Conner was shot three times in 1988 while responding to a call about someone shooting bullets into the air.
