J. Michael Durkin Jr.

J. Michael Durkin Jr. (Mike) died peacefully on March 19, 2014 at his home in Winchester, Virginia.

Mike had a love of animals and was a fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was an avid reader and had a wicked sense of humor. Mike spent more than 20 years in the information technology field, most recently as Chief Technical Officer at Vision Technology Group of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Mike is survived by his father, John Durkin of Haymarket, Virginia; his sisters, Melanie El-Sabaawi of Ospedaletti, Italy and Laura Domschke of Vienna, Virginia; his niece, Kayla Domschke and a nephew, Nate Domschke.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecilia and his twin brother, Robert Vincent.

Family will receive friends at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, Virginia 22181, Monday March 31, 2014 from 10:30am – 11:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30am with Fr. Patrick Holroyd officiating. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the Mass.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mike’s name to the Frederick County Virginia Ester Boyd Animal Shelter, 161 Fort Collier Rd., Winchester, Virginia 22603.
