Fairfax County, Va. — A Woodbridge man was killed Saturday when an asphalt roller ran over him.
Police said 40-year-old Edgar Tobar, a construction employee, was standing near a roadway of a construction site when another employee operating an asphalt roller lost control of the machine and ran over Tobar, said a Fairfax County police spokesman.
Tobar was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Homicide investigators were called to the accident scene, in the 7300 block of Statecrest Drive in Annandale, and decided not to file criminal charges in Tobar’s death.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration has taken over the investigation of Tobar’s death.
