Woodbridge, Va. — A woman was robbed at gunpoint after stopping to let someone cross the road.
Police said the 35-year-old victim was driving in the 1200 block of Easy Street in Woodbridge when she stopped for a pedestrian crossing the road, and then was approached by four men that surrounded her car at 9:40 a.m. Monday.
One man was armed with a handgun and another with a knife, and both went to the woman’s driver’s side window while the other two stood in front of the car, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The men demanded her purse, which she handed over, but when she stepped on the accelerator to get away from the men she suffered a minor cut on her arm.
The men fled on foot and police later swarmed the area but were unable to find anyone who might have been involved in the robbery, said Perok.
The victim was only able to give a description of two of the armed men.
Both described as Hispanic, the first was between 18 and 20-years-old, with a medium build, wearing a red or burgundy shirt and was armed with a knife. The second was between 30 and 40-years-old, with a heavy build, wearing a dark shirt and white hat and armed with a handgun.
