Immigration officials say they will now release information about all illegal aliens who have been arrested in Prince William County.
Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials told Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart they will now release identities and final disposition of every convicted illegal immigrant who was turned over to ICE, according to insidenova.com.
Stewart said this breakthrough ends years of “stiff responses” from ICE officials after similar requests to release the information were made.
Stewart also said ICE informs him they will increase detention center space in Virginia to allow officials to hold illegal immigrants until they’re scheduled deportation date, instead of releasing them back into the community before they are deported.
Stewart was informed about ICE’s change of policy via a letter from the agency, and he said the new data will prove there are millions of convicted illegal aliens in the country that have been released by ICE before their scheduled deportation date.
Stewart’s latest request to ICE for the information be released comes after the Aug. 1 death of Sister Denise Mossier, 66, who was killed by a 23-year-old Carlos Martinelly Montano, a known illegal immigrant, who was drunk when his car collided with Mossier’s on a rural two lane road in western Prince William County, police charge.
Mossier, who was riding the back seat of the car she was traveling in, was killed instantly. Two other Sisters were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Prince William County Commonwealth Attorney Paul B. Ebert told insidenova.com he will ask a grand jury to upgrade Montano’s involuntary manslaughter charge to felony murder.
This is Montano’s third DUI in the past five years, according to court records.
