UPDATED AT 10 A.M.: A woman who was missing from Fairfax County was found this morning near her home.
After search and rescue teams mounted a search this morning near the woman’ s home in the 2600 block of Arlington Drive, just six miles north of Ft. Belvoir, they found her at the end of her street, according to Fairfax police.
Police were concerned because the woman has a medical condition and had not been seen since Sunday afternoon.
Original story from Tuesday morning: The search is on for a missing woman in Fairfax County.
Dorothy M. Holcomb, 68, went missing from her home in the 2600 block of Arlington Drive, just off U.S. 1, six miles north of Ft. Belvoir. She’s not been seen since 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators and search and rescue teams will coordinate their search at the nearby Huntley Meadows Park, according to Fairfax police. The search will concentrate on the east side of U.S. 1.
Holcomb has a serious medical condition and is going without her medication, police say.
She was last seen wearing pink pants and a white and pink flowered shirt, police said. The missing woman is white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 250 pounds, has white hair and blue eyes.
